FAQs

How long is the Kōkiri programme?

The Kōkiri Accelerator Programme is a 4-month programme, starting in February 2018.

Where is Kōkiri. held?

The home of Kōkiri is in Kirikiriroa, however your team doesn't need to be permanently based in Hamilton during the programme. We have developed a hybrid-model that allows your team to work 'from home' while still receiving the needed support. Our only requirement is that team members are available to attend a week-long workshop each month during the programme.

Does my team need to be in Hamilton to apply?

No, you can be from anywhere across Aotearoa. There is however a requirement that your team attends the monthly workshops in Hamilton - but don't worry, we will look after travel and accommodation.

Do I have to be Māori?

We are striving to encourage and develop Māori entrepreneurs, and as such there is an expectation that at least one founding team member has Māori heritage.

There is no 'correct' number, however a team of 3-4 with complementary skills to deliver your project is the best place to start.

How many
people do I need in my team?

Applications for Kōkiri open on October 10 and close on November 17, 2017.

When can I apply?

So don't be shy, if you have a startup that you believe in we would encourage you to apply for Kōkiri.

What types of companies are you looking for?

We will consider all applications on a case-by-case to assess 'what you have achieved' and
'how much you've grown'.

How 'young' does my company need to be?
